Bjork

Finally, the moment has arrived. Bjork’s gig is coming up on Friday night at the Apollo in Manchester. I bought the tickets way back in November last year and we’re really excited as we both been big fans of Bjork for years. Andy’s always wanted to see her and I’ve wanted to see her live in concert since she held her first big gig in Iceland after releasing Debut in 1993. I always remember the image of her saluting our old president Vigdis Finnbogadottir looking so proud not knowing that she would be getting even more famous than the president.

She is just such a musical pioneer and you will never get her copying anyone else, she’s totally authentic and her music is never something you can box down, it’s in a league of its own, constantly playing with the boarders of pop music and classical.

My favorite Bjork album is Homogenic – but my favorite song is All is full of Love, just made absolutely magical with Chris Cunningham’s video, definitely my favorite video ever.
